Soave La Capelina 2022
DOC Soave, Veneto, Italy
100% Garganega | 12.5% ABV
Discover this Italian white wine made from 100% Garganega grapes in the Veneto region. An extremely elegant wine, which is the spokesperson for the profound bond that exists between this native grape and the red earth, of volcanic origin of the Val d'Alpone for hundreds of years now. This wine have such purity and linearity which makes them not only delicious, but age worthy.
This wine embraces a citrus spirit with additional notes of pineapple, almond and a glorious saline finish. Really succulent and fresh.
Service: Serve at 9 to 10°C.
Food Pairing: Excellent with fish-based first courses, as the traditional Veneto dishes, such as risi e bisi (risotto with peas), risotto with pumpkin, and risotto col pessin de risaia (risotto with fish caught in the rice fields). It is also well paired with spicy meats such as the soppressa veneta.
In addition, it is well paired with fresh or semi-matured cheese varieties such as the Monte Veronese DOP mezzano.
Today Giulia Franchetto manages the winemaking in the winery.
“In my wines I seek the authentic expression of my land and its history. I imagine my wines clean, direct and free to express their character. This is why my dad and I have chosen to work in a simple way, allowing our wines to be a pure expression of the grapes and the territory in which they were born." says Giulia.
The vineyard is located in the area of the Val d'Alpone: in the mountains of Vestenanova at an altitude of 500 m.a.s.l.
Almost 40 years ago, when the first vineyards were planted, it was faced with a real challenge: an unfamiliar micro-climate and physiology. After the first years of "settling in" the results began to arrive, so much so that the desire to plant new vineyards in this extraordinary landscape grew.
Today in Vestenanova there are 7 hectares, suited to the production of high-quality wines.
