Pinot Noir 2023
IGP Ardèche, Rhône Valley, France
Pinot Noir | 13.0% ABV
We are proud to offer this French red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes in the Rhône region of France. A supple and round wine on the palate with tannins present but not aggressive. On the label, the illustration recalls the Village of Character of Alba La Romaine and its castle, near which the Pinot Noir vines are cultivated.
A shiny red colour. A complex nose with aromas of small red fruits and buds, blackcurrant, and notes of vanilla and roasted coffee. It is a supple and round wine on the palate with tannins present but not aggressive. Well-balanced, it is a “pinote” wine.
Ideal with cold meats, cold buffets, mild soft cheeses, and white meats.
Best served at 15 – 18°C.
The Vignerons Ardéchois Cave Co-opérative has its roots in the late 1960s when the Presidents of 7 major Cave Co-opératives agreed a unified policy of modernisation, re-planting and marketing. Based in the town of Ruoms, 20 kilometres south of Aubenas this forward-thinking, modernist collective has done much to revive the fortunes of this ancient vine-area, which dates back to Roman times. Today they represents close to 2000 grape growers from 21 different smaller co-operatives.
The vineyard is located in southern Ardèche, near the “village of Character” of Alba la Romaine. It is located on the hillsides or half-slopes on clay-limestone soils.
