Anne Marie Ninot was born in Rully in 1859 and got married to a Parisian banker, Antoine Emile Ambal 20 years later. They moved to Paris & had two children. When her husband died, Marie returned to Rully and took interest in her brother’s business, he was a “negociant” but also a grower.
It was the beginning of “Champagne Method” wines so Marie decided to create her own “Maison” in 1898. She straight away bottled red & white sparkling and quality was soon recognized among the best in Burgundy. In 1929, Charles Roux her grandson, took over until his death in 1988. Year when his grandson, Eric Piffaut, joined the family business and became CEO the same year.
