We are delighted to offer this Spanish white wine made from 100% Verdejo wine in the Rueda region of Spain. This 2021 Lagar Del Rey is quintessentially Rueda with its succulent core of white pineapple, lime zest, cut grass and sweet pears. The higher altitude paired with mineral-rich and sandy soils creates a great synergy, contributing towards this fresh and lifted white wine.

Greenish yellow with bright greenish reflections, very attractive. The nose is powerful, where balsamic aromas predominate, with herbaceous notes and a background of woody fruit (Peach – Pineapple), tasty, balanced, fresh and persistent with a long aftertaste that returns a flood of fruit to the mouth.

Service: Serve at 10°C.

Food Pairing: Excellent with Seafood, fatty fish or fish stews, rice, white meats, oriental and fusion cuisine.

Eva López, the winemaker and David, the winery owner are childhood friends with similar passion for wines.
David´s family have been wine-growers since 1920 and they used to sell their quality grapes to the most important and well known wineries from the Rueda region. In 2011 they decided to build their own winery and today have one of the top wines in the region.

The 60 hectares of vines are planted at almost 800 m high on gravelly soil, with both clay and sandy subsoils, in the heart of the Duero river basin. The continental climate with thermal differences between day and night creates the right balance between the ripeness of the grapes and its acidity.

Cellaring: Drinking well now.

Vinification: 19 days in a 20,000 litre stainless steel tank with a controlled temperature at 13º. Aged 4 months on lees in stainless steel tanks.
