Chardonnay 2023
IGP Ardèche, Rhône Valley, France
Chardonnay | 13.0% ABV
We are proud to offer this French white wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes in the Rhône region of France. These wines are balanced and lively with a beautiful aromatic richness. On the label, the painting by Sgarra, a cubist-inspired artist, recalls the village of Antraïgues-Sur-Volane and its red fountain, the land of Jean Ferrat.
A pale gold colour with slight green highlights. Exuding notes of citrus fruits, green apple and gooseberry with an abundance of ripe fruits on the palate. A soft, restrained acidity leads the way for a smooth, silky texture with great structure and balance.
Ideal as an aperitif, but will also pair well with fish grilled, shellfish, goat cheeses or even a Chinese takeaway!
Best served at 10 - 13°C.
The Vignerons Ardéchois Cave Co-opérative has its roots in the late 1960s when the Presidents of 7 major Cave Co-opératives agreed a unified policy of modernisation, re-planting and marketing. Based in the town of Ruoms, 20 kilometres south of Aubenas this forward-thinking, modernist collective has done much to revive the fortunes of this ancient vine-area, which dates back to Roman times. Today they represents close to 2000 grape growers from 21 different smaller co-operatives.
The vineyard is located in the South East of southern Ardèche under the influence of a Mediterranean climate.
It is located on ancient lands' alluvial deposits in the commune of Berrias.
