Fortified Wines

The bold notes and rich flavours of fortified wines are ideal for those crisp, cooler days of autumn. Here are some of our favourites:

1. Noble Late Harvest 2020 Benguela Cove

This South African wine delivers luscious notes of ripe apricot and honey. Its vibrant sweetness and rich texture make it a fantastic companion to figs, strong cheeses and pâtés. It's a perfect sip to unwind by the fire after a chilly day.

2. Feudo Montoni Passito Rosso NV

For lovers of rich, Italian reds, this sweet passito offers layers of dried fruit, figs, and warm spice. The depth and intensity of this wine make it an excellent pairing for dark chocolate or hearty cheese boards we love to enjoy in autumn!

3. Les Coteaux de la Rame 2020

With its beautifully balanced sweetness and hints of citrus and honey, this French wine offers a refined touch to any autumn meal. Try it with foie gras or fresh fruit to highlight its elegant flavour profile.

Honey Wines

Intrigued? Yep, these wines are made from bees honey. The making of wine in this style dates back millennia... although you may have heard this style called by its more traditional name: mead.

No one's better at exquisite honey wines than Loxwood Meadworks! These are their sweet superstars ...

4. Loxwood Festival Honey Wine

This beautiful amber wine is crafted with pure honey for delicate sweetness, along with notes of almond, chamomile and orchard fruits. It pairs beautifully with fruit tarts, or or can be sipped solo for a light, warming experience.

5. Loxwood Sussex Sunset Honey Wine

A burst of floral notes and your favourite seasonal stone fruits make this dry honey wine for those who love a light but flavourful drink!

6. Loxwood Glow Spiced Honey Wine

It's in the name - this spiced mulled honey wine is an absolute autumnal delight. With notes of ginger, citrus, vanilla and cinnamon, it really is the ideal choice for chilly evenings, and will even take you straight into December as a Christmas cocktail!

Orange Wines

Our Autumnal Warmers series wouldn’t be complete without the opulant bold flavours of orange wines. These skin-contact wines bring the structure of a red with the freshness of a white—perfect for those looking for something out of the ordinary. 7. Rkatsiteli 2023

From the ancient Georgian grape variety, this orange wine is aromatic with notes of dried fruit and spice. Its bold texture and tannins make it an excellent match for roasted vegetables or hearty fall dishes.

8. Terra Remota Tardor 2022 Orange

Bright and expressive, this Spanish orange wine is packed with flavors of ripe stone fruits and herbs. Its slightly tannic finish and vibrant acidity make it a great partner for autumn fare like roasted meats and savory pies.
