How I Fell in Love with Wine
“Coming from a finance background, alcohol was usually a way of making it through the week. It was never wine though, except maybe a dodgy oak-chipped Chardonnay at Christmas. However, in 2010 I was fortunate enough to earn a three-month contract in a senior finance role within a fine wine specialist (that ultimately became two years). My first day was a Burgundy En Primeur tasting, and it was a eureka moment. I was blind and then I could see. From that day I knew wine would be my big passion in life, and when I decided to hang up my Abacus, my passion became a profession.”
For someone who started their career in finance, wine was once an afterthought. However, that all changed during a life-altering wine tasting that turned a casual interest into a lifelong passion. That moment of discovery in Burgundy sparked a love for the complexities and stories within every bottle. Wine became not just a beverage, but a calling.

“What I love about wine is that it’s a big world out there, and knowledge never ends. You will always continue to taste new wines as the wine world diversifies. My passion has always been not just the wine, but the stories around them. I also believe that fine wine shouldn’t cost the Earth.
